The people in Kasese, Bwera and Customs are extremely grateful for the food parcels which kept many families fed during the worst of the lockdown. However they do not want to be dependent on aid. Amaha We Uganda is about sustainable development and so some of the money raised has been used to buy seed. The next planting season is about to begin and with no money to buy seed we have stepped in to help. Seed has been given to some of the women's groups who are used to growing crops. They will plant, nurture and harvest the resulting crops. These crops will be shared with the women's groups who do not have the land to plant. In this way we hope to avert a famine and support people in feeding themselves.
The slideshow above shows the women receiving the seed.
