Friends of Amaha We Uganda Membership
As a charity we rely on the generosity of our donors. We have been very fortunate to be recognised as a supported cause by Wisley with Pyrford for the past 9 years; unfortunately that level of support cannot be relied on and may reduce from the end of 2015. Accordingly the Trustees are looking to widen the charity’s base of supporters to help ensure the future of our work in Uganda.
Therefore, we are writing to you now to announce the launch of our Friends of Amaha We membership scheme. We are asking you to consider making a small annual payment to become a Friend. To make the scheme simple and cost effective to operate, we are asking supporters to pay by standing order. As a charity, we are able to recover any Gift Aid on these payments. This is merely the start of the process and of course will not, on its own, raise all the funds we will need in future, so we anticipate other project fund raising from time to time; there is a gift day at Wisley with Pyrford coming up shortly.
In addition to seeking to widen our funding base, we have challenged the local team in Kasese – now operating as a licensed NGO – to find some of the annual administration costs from their own contacts. The anticipated running costs for the current year are c £16,000.
To start things off, we have suggested an annual contribution of £25 paid annually. Of course, we would be very pleased to receive other sums. All documents should be sent to the charity’s registered office address.
In return for your support, we will seek ways to maintain strong communication with you – at present we have Facebook and Twitter links in addition to our web site. We are proposing to provide a newsletter twice a year on progress and news from Kasese.
I do hope you will be able to help us and if you know any others who would be willing to assist us, please forward them a copy of this email.
Thank you for your consideration of this request. For more information please contact
